The Strata Foundation recently had the honor of visiting the Long Island State Veterans Home, located on the beautiful Stony Brook University campus.

Our founder and CEO, Joe Campolo, a veteran himself, was deeply impressed by the facility and the exceptional care it provides. We were given a wonderful tour by Executive Director Fred S. Sganga, whose pride in the home was evident at every turn, and rightfully so. The breadth of services offered to veterans and their families is truly remarkable.

After the tour, we joined the veterans for a lively music event filled with singing and plenty of special requests.

Strata Foundation is thrilled to share the Guide Dog Foundation for the Blind and America’s VetDogs‘ exciting news. On September 15th, they celebrated the groundbreaking of their new Puppy Development & Visitor Center at their National Headquarters in Smithtown, New York.

This state-of-the-art facility will strengthen every assistance dog’s journey from day one and expand the organizations’ capacity to serve veterans on Long Island and beyond.

Strata Foundation Founder & CEO Joe Campolo spoke at the ceremony in his role as Board Treasurer, emphasizing the importance of keeping this facility in Smithtown. As he proudly stated, “On Long Island, great things are getting done!”

A special highlight of the day: Executive Director Julie Alberti had the honor of speaking with Gretchen Evans, veteran and winner of the Pat Tillman Award for Service. Other special guests in attendance were Mr. Met, Sparky the Islanders mascot and many incredible service dogs.
